Field Performance Testing

Ideally, a full scale mockup with representative elements of the building is constructed on site before construction of the exterior envelope begins. This mockup is thoroughly tested with AAMA and ASTM test methods we help the Owner and Architect select based on the needs of the project. Air and water testing reveals weakness in the assemblies. When done prior to construction, the exercise allows for the tuning of a robust and repeatable assembly of materials. This provides a measure of confidence to the Owner. Further, as these tests continue to demonstrate improved function, mechanical engineers are increasingly able to rely upon predicted leakage rates to reduce the size of specified equipment. This saves money for equipment costs, structural member sizing, and of course operations and maintenance costs.
